Preventing Cybercrime

Here are some steps you can take to help minmize your chances of becoming a victim:

  • Do not share your information unless you are absolutely

sure of who is recieving it.

  • Install security and scanning software onto your computer.

  • Never use your name, date of birth, address, or any other

personal information in passwords

  • Do not disclose personal information in response to an email

  • When disclosing information on a website, make sure it is

secure. In other words make sure it starts "https:" not "http:"

  • Check your credit card and bank statements and keep track

of your transactions on a regular basis("Evolving").
